Give The Gift of More Smiles & Less Worry.

Press “Pause”

Press “Pause”

I love my DVR.  Not only does it collect all the shows I don’t have time to see (and allow me to watch them all at once forwarding through the commercials!), but it allows me to press “PAUSE.”  If I get distracted by a child who needs something? Press “PAUSE.” If I suddenly remember something I needed to do? Press “PAUSE.” When I’m done, I simply press “PLAY” and pick up where I left off.

When it comes to worry, our thoughts tend to speed along, gaining momentum as we flow from one concern to another. The same thing happens to our children, who can just as easily get caught up in the “what ifs” once one worry starts and leads to the next.  As challenging as it might be, one way to handle this is to press “PAUSE.”  Imagine a huge PAUSE button in your mind, and picture yourself pressing it!

Consciously thinking “I need to stop for a moment” creates space.  To paraphrase a famous quote, when you change the way you think about things, the things you think about change.  When we create space to examine our worries, we can see them as problems to be solved instead of threats that preoccupy and derail us.  And once we find a solution, we can once again press play, sit back, and enjoy. The WorryChest can help you help the children in your life with a smile.
